you like Winston with that?An exhibition of prints and photographs from Winston’s Restaurant in London
Anson Cutts Gallery
November 30, 2007 – February 29, 2008
This exhibition features prints, photographs, and newspaper clippings that once adorned the walls of “Winston’s,” a popular restaurant in London. When the restaurant closed in 1991, these items came to the Winston Churchill Memorial. This collection of images constitutes an archive that demonstrates Churchill’s continuing appeal as an icon of twentieth century popular culture, and provides an interesting visual biography of Churchill from his early life to the time of his death in 1965. The exhibit opens on November 30, Churchill’s Birthday, and runs until February 29.
