 Important Things To Know

Restrictions
The following regulations have been made to protect the original and physical nature of the Church of St. Mary. We are sure you will agree the natural beauty of the church is such that little adornment is necessary.

We caution your wedding party and guests to be mindful of the wood carvings and antique furnishings, and to please refrain from touching them; especially, the baptismal font, the special Bibles, and the Bishop's chairs on either side of the altar.

Absolutely no rice, confetti, birdseed, etc is allowed anywhere on the premises, neither inside or outside of the Church and the Museum.

ONLY SILK
flower petals may be dropped by the flower girls in the ceremony. No smoking, food, or drink is allowed in the Church or the Museum.

Only the two candlesticks belongs to the Church may be used on the altar. You must provide your own dripless candles. You  may have a unity candle on the altar, if desired. This must be dripless too. If you do not have candle lighters in your wedding party, we will light the candles prior to the ceremony if you wish us to do so.

Stationary bouquets cannot be set on the altar rail. Florists provide stands for floral arrangements or the Museum has two wooden pedestals that are available for use.

Nothing (flowers, greens, bows, etc) is to be taped, tacked, clipped, wired or otherwise attached to the pews. If you would like pew decorations, you may attach a long ribbon to the decoration and then place the ribbon underneath the pew cushion. The weight of the cushion will hold the decoration in place.

If we have not answered all your questions, please feel free to contact Sara Winingear at 573-592-5234 or sara.winingear@churchillmemorial.org. You may also look at our wedding page on Wedding Wire, a nationally recognized wedding website. Click here for that information.
